TRF206Xsq

I was a bit disapointed with the look of the Tamiya 201x and I wanted an x6 so I brought the two together to make my Ideal 2wd car .

Its not quite finished but its got most of the tamiya parts on that I wanted and just about every x6 hopup released so far as well as the very bling Cream RC shocktower mounts.

Hope ya like it ;).

This is more an excercise in attention to detail than an all out race car so I bought another x6 sq and built it to rag the nads off .

So, what parts (other than the obvious shocks) are Tamiya parts?

RS Concept 30-07-2010 05:18 AM

Hi Mark,

Finally somebody, who use TRF shocks...

Keep in touch, I use them since January also.
Springs Asso, TRF pistons drilled 1,5mm front-rear ( I wanted to simulate more less the flow capacity of the Losi red pistons and it seems on bumpy, slippery tracks works better as the original 1,3front- 1,4rear holes)
Sure indoor carpet I use the original pistons.
Now Im working on to test some rebound, since I did not used it.

:)

As I see mainly the blue velvet :woot:, what dominates on your X6sq...

So far, the servo posts, all the countersunk washers, all the hinge pin spacers and the roll bar ends. There's still the Trf turnbuckles to put on but I need long shank adjusters as the longest turnbuckles they do are 45mm and I need at least 50mm to use the Jconcepts cups.

Admittedly there arn't that many Tamiya parts that can be used but It was more about creating the tamiya look on a none Tamiya car.

cheers for the comments guys :). Ive only used the car twice at my small local (ish) club but I'm looking forward to trying it at the bigger indoor meetings like York and Worksop.

As for the shocks, Ive tried to copy the associated setup but I think I'll have to alter the rear shock position as it sits very low with all the brass and a lipo, even with tons of pre-load. The spings tend to bow and rub on the bodies too which I've never had a problem with on the 501 or DB01.

I might try the saddle pack chassis sometime but for now I'm just going to enjoy the car as it is and try not to wreck it too badly :D

Looks great mate:thumbsup:

JoeGlover 24-11-2010 10:55 PM

Did you try to fit the 201 front end on the X6?

MRD 24-11-2010 11:20 PM

No, its just the normal B4 front end as per x6. I think there's a conversion coming out for the 201x tho, made my Atomic carbon.
