xx diff rebuild....nightmare!
 

so ive been having trouble with my diff rebuild

this diff is in my "good" gearbox, lovely mesh on all the teeth etc, whereas my "bad" box is all rough etc...

anyways, since i took the good diff apart i just cant seem to get it back to a point where it will tighten properly. I must have rebuilt it 20 times, even tried a bfast kit!

what happens is the locking nut in the diff outdrive keeps threading and ive been through a new diff kit (A3078)aswell

ive been doing it by the book but the problem remains and whats really annoying the old crap diff seems to go together with no problems.

been very frustrating.

might take it to my LHS for anothe go but would like to avoid the service charge!

Any ideas?

Best to replace everything except the outdrives. Diff rings, balls, screw, nuts, thrust race, gear, etc, etc.

it "may" be fixed :)

i think the bearings losi tell you to put in the outdrive and diff may be incorrect because i swaped them with others in the diff and it seems to be easy to put together, which must mean its correct

but good idea with the new parts, ill make a list now and get it "pro" built, tho for the outlay i may aswell get a b4, tho i like my XX
