Keyboard and Mouse Problems

Hi Guys,

I have just bought a brand new laptop. It is an Acer 5551.

The problem is when I press a key on the inbuilt keyboard the mouse will have about a < 2 second delay till it will move.

It makes it impossible to play games, for example- Half life, Team Fortress 2 etc. anything that requires pressing keys and moving the mouse at the same time, so it is very annoying.

I am using everything inbuilt, no usb keyboards or mouse.

I have not changed any of the settings. And only bought it yesterday.

If anyone can help I would love it if you could

Try using an external mouse? Playing with the 'finger touch' mouse on them sort of games would be impossible as it is.
Does the same happen outside of games? If not then your best to get help from the more technical guys on here.

I was going to try an external mouse but I don't have access to one at the moment.

No it doesn't just appear in games. It happens all the time, desktop, general use etc.

I play FPS games with my trackpad lol

for years I was hardcore mouse/keyboard and playing call of duty on the Xbox was a nightmare. since I got a good laptop to play games on I've just got use to it now.

no one believes me though when I tell them I play with a trackpad lol

When I had my old laptop I only used the track pad, found it soo much easier then mouse.

I cant think of many reasons for this problem.

Update your USB drivers and disable the Acer software that deals with the extra keys (for volume and that stuff) as this might be causing a conflict.

There may also be updated drivers for the trackpad, Acers site does have some drivers on it but you may find newer ones at the website of the component manufacturers.

Just plugged in a USB mouse. It works fine, if I hold in a key and move the mouse its fine, unlike when using the trackpad.

I looked for updates for the synaptics trackpad and its got the latested software, Windows is just doing an update so i will let you know how it goes.

I don't really wanna use the usb mouse all the time, as I prefer the trackpad for gaming :woot:
