c0sie 13-07-2010 08:12 PM

Dave, dont say "dogging site" and "tease" in the same sentance....

You'll create all sorts of rumours :D

lol

Just incase I aint there early like I was last week can I make a polite request to whoever decides the track layout?

Firstly, can we run the main straight away from race control (left to right)
Secondly, at the end of the main straight can we have a sweeping corner and not a tight hairpin please? Fast straights into tight hairpins kill tyres :(

Thanks :)

millzy 14-07-2010 10:00 AM

but makes men out of boys lol

I dont think ive seen A caldi layout with out the "sweeping first bend"

any way back to the topic

c0sie 14-07-2010 10:04 AM

When you getting your arse back into the game then Millz? You are sorely missed bro!

millzy 14-07-2010 10:54 AM

blue_pinky 14-07-2010 11:28 AM

I'll be there, and happy to do the track if the early birds aren't able to get on with it before I get there.

Looking forward to some racing fun

unless there a major domestic when me and Mrs Snake go shopping together 2moro :wub I will pick the keys up normal time and crack on with the track.

Just for Chris I will build an Oval track this week .. that way we have 2 sweeping bends and the end of each straight for total conservation of tyres:woot: ..... you could always get there early and help is the other option lol:p

I wish I could make it a 6.30 like I used to for I can't remember how long, but now I have to work till gone 6 then have an hour trip to get to club :(

One little tip I will give you for a good track Carl is ignore what other people want, yes take on board what they say and maybe take some inspiration from it but never be a slave to someone elses vision, build from YOUR imagination not someone elses. Also I never planned tracks out but I always went to club with a few ideas ;)

My personal thing is to build a track that is fun to race on, my biggest pet hate is when the track designer trys to make a track 'harder' to drive or 'more challenging' trust me, the best tracks are race tracks, just look at F1, all the mikey mouse technical tracks are always super dull to watch, build a track where you can flow and overtake and you have a winner eg. Montreal and the new Silverstone

B4R4CER 15-07-2010 10:39 PM

an oval track it is then pmsl :woot:

Ive been doing pretty well (if i might say so myself) with my track designs ... I am not the best of drivers so try to make my tracks flowing with a few technical bits in.

Lots of people have enjoyed them  ... 1 or 2 have moaned or said what they would have done differently but they are normally the people who just turn up and sit on their arse doing their car instead of helping so their opinion dont count :p

Completely agree, been to some tracks where the 'features' or corners have become obstacles and it totally ruins the way the track flows.

B4R4CER 15-07-2010 11:08 PM

I wont be there after all ... aparently i promised the missus we'd do the cinema Friday night as we are at Talywain all weekend.

Damn you Southern Comfort for controlling my mouth then removing all memory of stuff said.

blue_pinky 16-07-2010 08:44 AM

S4...mmm

Pretty sure my first ever night at caldicot involved watching Craig with an S4...being chased by Jay and raver...I'd never seen RC cars looking as mentally fast as that before!!!

Promply bought a B4 and started racing regularly...sorry, bouncing if the walls regularly!!!

Anyhow, I'll be there about 6:30-6:45 and will pick up the keys unless anyone else can get there sooner?

c0sie 16-07-2010 10:39 AM

Carl, rest assured that you are not the only guy that has gotten the keys at 5:30pm, gotten to the club before 6pm and built a complete track whilst others sit around and watch you...and then wondered why heat 1 still didnt start till 8:30pm

Been there and done that with Bill for about a year. Its just an evolution. Craig built the tracks when me and Bill first rocked up, then we tried our hands at it, then Andy and co took over and now you are having a bash at it.

Thanks for taking my "polite request" on board though...

Couldn't agree more with that, I always have idea's, but when you start laying out, things flow. Tracks got to be fun to drive without having mad obstacles that got to be taken balls out!

Most of all, enjoy building it, and then driving it, then thinking... if I did this or that, it would be better, then incorporate it for the next time!!
