Thanks and question on lipo ?

Thanks Ian for tuning the ESC and checking the rest of the car. Don't remember all the names but few others helped me as well so thank you.

And thank you to all of you for making me and my son welcome.

It is clear I have much to learn and it's like anything else time practicing is key.

I have one question re lipo. what max amps the GTB/velocity 7.5T can handle and what would you recommend for saddle lipo packs ? I'm not looking for the most extreme here but I've read that some brand at equivalent C and mah deliver more then others. I will only be seldomly racing and more towards the back of the pack so I'm looking for value for enough delivery of power.

Cheers

Are the flightmax 5700mah 25C saddle pack any good and do they fit in the B44 with the lipo bracket ?

They are a very tight fit under the top deck and could cause a potential short depending on how they were connected up. I would personally look at a dimensionally smaller pack that would not be as close to the top deck. I would go for something between 4000mah and 5000mah with a C rating of between 35 and 50.

DMS racing are currently selling vampire racing 4400mah 40C saddles for 63GBP. Great price and good lipo too. I deal alot with DMS and can highly recommend them, their service is top notch. Part number VR1012.

I can vouch for the Vampire saddles as well. Fantastic batterys for a good price, I got mine from DMS as well.

I have been using the flightmax saddle packs and they work perfectly. I have put some tape under the chassis brace to protect from shorting and have not had any problems. I think they are an excellent value pack for starting with.
If you want to try mine, I'll be at the 2WD nationals in two weeks time.

MSD racing do more serious packs 30C/40C/50C etc. at decent prices - contact Mick B for details - nearly always track side at the weekends but also based in Dublin so you can call to him during the week if need be.
