what 1/10 electric off road

Hi guys,
Hope someone can help, I have been looking at two 1/10 electric off road buggies but cant decide between the two, its the schumacher sx2 pro or the yokomo BMAX-C with the Championship pack. Oh I have also just come across the durango DEX410R so that really has got my head spinning:confused:. Any advise would be much appreciated!!

Thanks Matt

the sx2 is a good car but needs about 60 quid spending on it to make it strong,, but that said most cars do lol ...

the durango has the bling factor but is it realy worth all that money ???

what about a b44 good all round car with lots of people racing them spares are normaly easy to get .

peetbee 07-07-2010 10:51 PM

Any reason for picking those above the B44 Matthew?
Also where will you be running, GNR, Cobra, Caldicot?

matthew 07-07-2010 10:59 PM

I am a talywain member so I'l be running there mostly but will run at other tracks as well, I have been told about the b44 being a good all rounder but just thought I would get people's opinions on 1/10 scales as i dont really have a clue  lol

It's hard to beat the B44 to be honest, it's probably the most common 4wd at the clubs and spares are easier to come buy at the Trackside.

I've not owned the other cars you've listed, but people have complained about spares availability for the Yokomo. Theres someone with a Cat SX at Caldicot that goes well and the sx2 is meant to be even better. The Durango I don't know about, talk to James Maggs (jimbo007) as he had one briefly.

Sorry if it's not much help!

and I have a B44 for sale with all the blue bits upgraded heh :D

GRIFF55 08-07-2010 09:33 AM

b44 is a good car, and spares will be readily available. tam 511 is awesome, best thing i have drove since the 501 (suits my style anyhow)
the durango is a good bit of kit too, the cheaper version looks a good buy and they fly around tally. gear diffs too so should keep a bit of nitro style for ya.
see if you can have a go with a few peoples. then there is always a 2wd to start leccy racing off?

If your racing at Tally mostly, the Tamiya TRF 501's and 511's seem to drive very, very well there, better i think than the B44's... And they are pretty bulletproof too.

peetbee 08-07-2010 03:42 PM

Slightly cheaper than a 501/511 is the Tamiya DB01R, I think it's worth a look as it shares the same transmission and suspension but has fully enclosed diffs/belts and can run stick pack lipos.
(ok and happens to be what I run, so I'm a little biased!)

Thanks for all the feedback guys its been a big help
I have decided to go for the durango DEX410R purely because its running the cvd drivetrain system, it looks WELL BUILT and you also have the option of upgrading to the spec of the DEX410 which I really like the idea of.

Thanks again :)

use all the build tips on here and make sure to threadlock all as said in manual. Good choice of car (nat as good as the 511 tho:p:lol:)

I'm sure you'll be really happy with it.

what you think

Hi guy's
Just wondering your thoughts on the motor and esc and would it be much better than the losi xcelorin combo. LINK http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-prodshow/CCR6600.html ESC

http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-prodshow/SP13865V3.html MOTOR

Thanks

GRIFF55 10-07-2010 10:26 PM

the motor will be ace, but i'd go for a 7.5 starting off. slower, less crashes is faster:thumbsup:
Never had the speedo so can't comment

Belsten 10-07-2010 10:34 PM

cant say it will be better than the xcelorin I ran them in both cars last season and were both really good
Another one here for a 7.5 its all you need and will be fine around tally

peetbee 11-07-2010 02:11 AM

I agree, I cant say it will be better than the xcelorin and I'm still running them in both my cars, again 7.5 is plenty
