B44 Shock rebuild issue

I am rebuilding the shocks on the B44 but having problems getting the snap clip to snap.
Also, the whities o ring keep splitting trying to get them to sit right.

I dont normally have this problem with the B4 and thought the shocks were the same.

Any ideas?:confused::confused::confused:

The B4 & B44 shocks are the same, just the B44 has longer shafts in the front.

Are the bodies clean, nothing at all where the o-rings fit?

Also are you using new or old plastic parts?
New parts may need to be trimmed to fit.

Have a read of this: http://users.telenet.be/elvo/12/8/1.html

Thats the guide i have been following with the B4 with no troubles.

I will check again to make sure there is nothing stuck in the bottom of the shock body - although i'm positive there is not:confused:

Check that the shock body is clean, is it happening on all the bodies?

Try a dry fit of the just the plastic spacers, they might need to be trimmed down if they are new.

I built Associated shocks for the first time in my life yesterday and was wondering how you can remove the whole O-ring thing for maintenance? I didnīt see anything realting that in the manual. Sorry if this questions sounds stupid...:(

you use the insert tool to push them out...

Ah, just the other way round form the outside? Thanks!

Yep, that's right, you just need to go in from the other end at a slight angle so you press on the seal assembly and it will all pop out.
