SX2 layshaft adaptor and QUICK SX question

I was directed here from another source. I was told there is a developed adaptor layshaft where you can use B44 spurs and slippers on your Cat SX. I tried the search option and was getting no where. I am sorry if this post has been covered many times.

I bought a new to me Cat sx, Can some one tell me the stock interal gearing and stock spur that came with the kit. I did some research and I believe its the 81 tooth and 2.6 internal. Please correct me if I a wrong as I am placing a spares order in the next few days.

Hi

Kit spur is 83 and kit gearing (33:23 on the slipper adjust end) equals 2.6.

WRT the adaptor, it is the layshaft itself that is modified. You need to turn down the centre that sits in the spur gear to fit the ID of associated spurs.

To be honest though, it looks like the new black spurs from Schumacher are stronger than the original white ones.

Enjoy

the modified layshafts were from user name Stegger. unless you have the ability to turn it down yourself, it's dead easy if you know anyone with a lathe
