esc's with timing
Hi,
Do these esc's with the timing option make a motor like a 13.5 go a lot faster, and which are the esc's with this function? |
Yes there is it makes a 13.5 go more like a 8.5
The esc's out there are Tekin rs/rs pro Speedpassion/hobbywing Gm 120 team wave rb50/30? I use a tekin rs and its rapid with a 13.5 |
Yes!!
Tekin, GMs with new firmware, Teamwave, Hobbywing Xerun... I think I missing one more Quote:

LRP/Nosram stock SXX stock spec advances the timing aswell.
|
A few are more than just timing advance to, like the Tekin, it gives options of RPM range for timing advance, full throttle turbo function, and the rate at which that comes in too.
|
got a speed passoion gt2.0 and noticed it has these features, just wondering am i correct in thinking these things won't do the motor much good?
|
they don't do it any harm, if used correctly, over do it and it gets the motor really hot!
|
mamba max pro also has this can be custom also, and can select rpms also.
|
my old ezrun 35a had adjustable timing, changed it a few times but never noticed any difference.......
think my new fusion exceed pro 80a has it as well..... |
Sensorless systems dont hold ajustable timing as they dont have sensors. So that rules out the ezrun system.
The fusion system also dont hold ajustable timing via the speedo. Only on the motor |
I have an LRP SXX touring version, does this have the same options as the stock spec?
Or will it be slower when using a stock motor. |
slower as its designed to run mod motors like 3.0 ect so no ajustable timing i dont think? but better brakes ect

It is also available to older GM95, GM100, ... but then it needs firmware upgrade(cost 20euros I think). Then TEKIN & LRP/NOSRAM caught up. But in different ways, TEKIN provided update via software(nice), whereas LRP/NOSRAM created new product (need to buy new ESC...more ESCs sold that way). LRP/NOSRAM models that have that feature are "stock spec" in their name. Novak then also released a new ESC for this. Today I know at least those that do have the feature of variable timming as a function of RPM("dynamicaly varying timing"): # GM90, GM120 & any older ones+firmware update (+gives options of RPM range for timing advance, not tried without sensor wire) # Tekin (+gives options of RPM range for timing advance) # LRP "SPX stock spec" & "SXX stock spec" (be carefull with SXX model if you buy second hand only the "mkIII" is bug free # NOSRAM "Matrix stock spec" & "Pearl stock spec" (same comment as above about the pearl=SXX) # Novak Kinetic (+gives options of RPM range for timing advance... :not tried myself, but says on website) Any other Brand, I don't know... I thought ezrun, speedpassion could only change timming fixed for each run...(so when they go faster, they have less torque... no gain) |

I think that the biggest difference between the GM and Tekin, is in the ease of setup, the Tekin is just very easy.
