Cougar SV Diff
Evening people,
Just a quick one. I am finishing off building my Cougar SV Pro and I am a little unsure of the correct way round the diff should be put in. Should it: A: Diff screw head on the left hand side of the car as if you are facing it from the front or B: Diff screw head on the right hand side of the car as if you are facing it from the front Its proberbly a stupid question but I don't want that baby undoing itself on its maiden run on Thursday at DMS. Cheers. Andy |
Looking from the front I have mine to the left, however if the grub screw at the opposite side is tight enough it probably shouldn't matter.

shouldn't matter if the grub screws tight it wont come undone, thats what the grub screw is for,

Thanks dude
Thank guys!!!

I rebuilt my diff last night (using the circlips pliers and new parts) and installed it without paying further attention to the screw sides...
This morning I tested the car and as I had the grub screw on the right looking from the back the diff got undone after only a few accelerations... I had used loctite on the grub screw thread but it did not change anything. Once I put the diff back into the other direction with grub screw on the left side it stayed shut. |
