latest worksop news

More Important Info for the Series...........
Ok as the title says more important information regarding the Worksop series, entry forms are just being finalised and will be available very shortly. There is full support from Schumacher Racing so therefore we shall be having raffle prizes at each round so that one person from each final shall win a prize at random rather than winning trophies in each final, we feel that most people would rather like the idea of winning a prize, not sure exactly as yet but top prize may be something like a brushless motor, or pack of cells, or speedo or something similiar, then with other smaller prizes for all other finals, rather than just winning trophies to sit at home and collect dust we wanted to make it different from other series, we will however be having some trophies for the junior racers who do well.
You shall then score points for each round you attend based on your qualifying and final position, (we are looking at racing round by round like Worksop always used to due to the changing grip levels throughout the day) and then we shall award trophies for the top ten in each class at the end of the series, hopefully everyone will like this idea!!
Also another very important piece of information which I think is the right decision for the series after very careful thought and feedback from some of you guys who are going to race at the series, is we have taken the decision to ALLOW Lipo batteries in both classes of 2WD and 4WD Buggy to try and make this a really good series and push this in the right direction!!! Obviously due care and attention is needed when charging and using these type of batteries so please do it sensibly so that we dont have any complications.
Hope everyone is happy with this decision and hope you are all getting ready for the start of whats looking like a fantastic series. One last thing I shall say is due to the amount of people that have shown interest in wanting to race at this series please get your entrys in as soon as possible as soon as entry forms are available to avoid any disappoitment!!!Hope to see you there

Can I be cynical and suggest LiPo are only being allowed this year because Schumacher have one to flog now?

After all, they aren't any 'safer' than before, and still don't fit in alot of chassis, both of those reasons were given about why they weren't allowed last winter.

I only run LiPo at the moment, and I managed to borrow some stone age technology (IB4200's :D ) for the first round last winter, but I'm tempted to find a B4 for this.

a little more info....
There shall be either 4 rounds of qualifying and 1 final, or 3 rounds of qualifying and 2 finals, we are planning on running the meeting on round by round like Linda and John used to, as the grip changes dramatically during the day, and it means that its not all down to the last qualifier to make your time count!! Any thoughts on the above by anybody???

Chris thanks for your input, its appreciated when you guys give us some feedback on what we should be doing this year, so that we get it right for what all you racers want at the end of the day!! Ps Are you planning on making any trips up to Worksop to race this year Chris? I guess its a long way for you to travel up to it nowadays though so totally understand!!!

Also we have had a few people ask about rules for the series, so my reply to those people has been: As long as you are on the control Schumacher Yellow Mini Pin tyres and your buggy meets Brca minimum weight for your chosen class then your car will be legal, so therefore you may use any brushless system for example even if not on the Brca list just to try and keep it a very relaxed and fun series so that all you drivers really enjoy racing there and can have fun without too many rules and regulations! It also gives you the chance to try something new for your car if it becomes available but not approved straight away by the Brca!! As long as the item is safe and not going to pose a threat to anyone!!!!

PS Please remember to send your entry forms back if you havent already done so, as we have already received a lot of entrys at this early stage and dont want people being disappointed if they cant get in any of the events!!

so cells and motors are open so lets have some new items and fun!!
agm date will go ahead as planed, only time hall was free!
