Schumacher S1 & Cougar SV
How do the Schumacher S1 composite spec' cars perform in like for like comparisons with their respective carbon fibre versions?
Obviously the Cougar SV is a new kit, so I am kind of asking with regard to other cars, Mi4 and CatSX etc, as well as to expectations of the new Cougar SV S1. |
the cat S1 was the same spec as the carbon model except the chassis. So the car performed exactly the same. the only slight difference is the S1 chassis has a little more flex which can make the car a little more forgiving to drive, especially on low grip tracks. So it may actually be a better choice for more beginner level drivers who would find the carbon cat a little twitchy.

and also the s1 doesn't have the big bore shocks, reason why im going for the pro version instead :)
|
there are a few differences between the Pro and Race, the pro has, on top of the Race,
Ceramic bearings and diff balls, Big Bores Carbon chassis, topdeck, shock towers But the rest is the same, I believe. |
some people actually have the S1 version?
I only see pro versions with big boring shocks. |

Cooper - the http://www.rossmod.co.uk have SV S1 assembled kits listed as 'in stock'. another question now, what is the reputation of Schumacher ready assembled kits in terms of 'build quality'? |
I think an S1 cat is doing rather well in the UK Nationals...... :)

In answer to my own questions, having received my assembled Cougar SV S1 today, I can confirm that first impressions are more than favourable with regards to the overall build quality of the kit. The Cougar has simply surpassed my expectations in quality of parts, and Schumacher staff have done the same with the assembly.:wub
