New car

Hi all

I am looking for a new 4wd, I have a bj4 at the mo, thats going well (3rd or 4th in region). At the min yoks are going at a good price from my local shop, when I see them at regonals the seam an agressive car which is what I like, but what worrys me is has yokomo changed are are they still the same as ten years ago when I stopped racing 10th, back then you would buy the car then spend a small fortune on tune up parts to get it to work!!
There seams a lot of talk about chassis....so what's the score?:o

Is it the yoke your after, or do you have other options??

racingdwarf 25-07-2007 10:51 PM

yer, I do like the bj4we but they are a little heavy on the pocket! even second hand & spairs can be a bit hit and miss. The losi is just not my thing...

then get a B44 when it comes out. They will be around £215 in the shops and you shouldn't have a problem with associated spares.

How about a d4?

racingdwarf 26-07-2007 12:08 PM

Not sure, I have never seen one round these parts (Darkest East Anglia),are they easy to get bits for etc?

GRIFF55 26-07-2007 12:44 PM

Yeh, lots of parts at most shops, MK racing has most and Mirage have almost all in stock.
I will be sellin one of my cars very soon as i have lots of spares now, so i can sell my spare car.

Just typed hotbodys into the old computer........Had a look at loads of sites, but no sign of an r/c car;)

annie_himself 26-07-2007 06:10 PM

Here you go:

Very similar to the BJ4 but spares are easier to find. Don't dismiss the Yoke though, its a good car, certainly very tough in my experience. :)

GRIFF55 26-07-2007 06:14 PM

Or you can go on WWW.M-K-RACING.COM He also has a banner advert on this site

Thanks all for those addresses.I had a look far more information about the D4. But The pictures of hot bodys I found on the the other sites were.....well very different!!!!!!!!!!!:D :o

I know this may be an old question, but what goodies are on the factory team that std BX has not got?

No heap of tune up parts needed like 10 yrs ago. The BX is FULLY loaded out of the box. All beautifully machined aluminium and carbon everywhere. Far and away the best engineered car I have ever built.

There is ongoing development with a one piece flat chassis but I have recently gone back to the 2 piece kit chassis the car is going the best i've had it. I'm really enjoying driving it recently. :)
The only hop-ups i'm running on the car now is the front one way and longer AE shock shafts on the rear.

Differences between BX and BX Factory are:
- One way now in kit
- Hardened driveshafts
- spring set included
- New shell
I think it has longer rear shafts and a rear roll bar aswell

The Factory Kit DOES NOT include the Spring Set and on the One Way...the Factory Kit has the longer One Way Cups for increased Droop adjustment. Yes it also includes longer rear Shock shafts. No rear roll bar is included in the Kit, atleast not in my Factory Kit. Also the Rear Top deck is New. The rear belt does not rub anymore.

Ok, i stand corrected on the springs & roll bar. Perhaps there's a difference between US & Japanese specs and i was looking at the wrong one.
Please can you post the part No. for the longer one way outdrives and the part number and length of the rear shock shafts. I have some on the way but wasn't sure of part number.
