Ultima RB5 SP2 full option question

Not many options to be had on an SP2.

I'd get an aluminium or brass front bulkhead just for the strength of them, c/f shock towers from atomic carbon, ceramic diff balls, aluminium rear hubs if you fancy them.

That's about it tbh. That is if you want to keep it rear motored

SP2 comes with orange up front and light yellow at the rear.

If you're going to run on grass only, there's no point in using these springs, way too soft.

Errr

Why do you want to buy all the springs there are??? As i said, unless you're going to race on dirt, there's no point in getting anything softer than the light yellows all round. Don't see the use of the lime green and dark green at the back either, way too stiff.

Also no need for lunsford turnbuckles, carbon composite parts, LAW39 are included in the kit, the black idler gear isn't necessary either and as for the ball cups there's plenty included in the kit.

Well, the Lunsford's that I have are way too long for my ZX-5 FS.

And now a question.

Say, for example, that you've just bought an RB5 SP2 but that you want to get all the best Kyosho option parts ready before you start the build. Carbon parts, alloy gear, that type of thing.

Money is no object (within reason) and there are shops located close by that have every possible Kyosho option part in stock, as well as some parts from other companies in Japan.

The first item on the list will be a set of tires for initial testing on a grass track and a full collection of option springs, but after that, the sky's the limit.

So what would you buy? Options please, but don't feel the need to give me you custom set-ups as I'm looking to play around with that.

Mr.Jingles.

i use my rb5 sp indoors on carpet using the kit springs no lead or any weight at all and its the best car iv ever had

Skip the carbide diffballs and get real ceramics..
Proline wheel conversion, why?
Lunsford ti rods, yeah.. or Associated b4 rods if u want blue titaniums :P

also i would say the "sp" motorplate is a must have, its not included in any kit yet

Fabs 23-05-2010 06:06 PM

Proline tyres for grass???? I can tell you they don't work...

Mr.Jingles 24-05-2010 02:28 AM

Nevermind, I'll try elsewhere.

Thanks Erkan.
