Interclub 2007 Venue

which club would you like to see hold it?

not that the favourite from this poll will be running it mind you, it might just influence the out come :D

there in no particular order but I voted for Teesside

sosidge 23-07-2007 04:43 PM

Shouldn't we really wait until a track has volunteered its services?

Theoretical polls will probably end in disappointment and confusion.

lifes full of it, disappointment and confusion that is, so a little more won't hurt :D :D :D

see you haven't joined in the fun then :(

have to be somewere that drains well, so that rules out Batley :)

Interclub has been and should always be an outdoor venue, so that leaves Batley and Bury...

MikePimlott 26-07-2007 08:03 PM

and wasnt it Batley last year ???

Bury this year ;)

soz for any confussion

josh_smaxx 26-07-2007 09:16 PM

Teesside anyday, a whole field for camping and if they made the track slightly bigger with a few more jumps then perfect :D

Northy 26-07-2007 09:27 PM

It was hard enough work for them sorting the last meeting out!

Actually Batley drains really well, almost a metre of water can be completely gone in under 2 days. Unfortunately resistance to flooding is not a strong point of the track:(

emzy 26-07-2007 10:40 PM

Why does it have to be at a different track? The interclub was held for years at Harrogate.

I'm afraid I'd be against it being at Bury since I don't really see Bury as a true "northeast" club (sorry guys!). Plus, its so bloody far away from us lot in Durham/Newcastle/Shields, one day events are a bit rubbish!

Just depends on which tracks/clubs are willing at the end of the day!

I Agree Bury is somehow a NE and a NW track, BUT i think thats fantastic for the club, and its a awesome track. If the interclub was held for more teams (eg, 2 teams per club (lesser drivers aswell)) the interclub could be huge.

bigred5765 27-07-2007 11:14 AM

but teeside is so bloody far away for us lot to so batley is the cleaver chocie in the middle if you will

Mike, clubs can enter as many teams as they want, there is currently an A team and a B team trophy.

Surely the point of the interclub is to find the best team and race at the best venue? There are only 2 permanent outdoor tracks with proper features and one is "under the weather"? I enjoyed the regional at preston park and can understand the amount of work that goes into getting it up and running, but why go to all the trouble when there are better (no dis-respect the the Teeside boys) venues already available? I realise that it's a long haul from one end of the N/E to the other (guess I'm luck living in York) but if you can't be arsed to drive a bit, don't bother and make way for the drivers that want too!

super__dan 31-07-2007 11:51 AM

I in no way actaully volunteer Batley officially for this but in terms of trade off between good track and geography then Batley is the best choice. Bury is the best track, York is a cracking track ALWAYS but I can't bring myself to go back to the same place as the regional (unless I have spektrum by then) due to interference.

Now I'm back from holiday I hope to get involved in sorting the track out, part of which HOPEFULLY will be having the rostrum sorted out for the regional. If it is sorted for then, then for me it's the best venue.

Northy 31-07-2007 11:55 AM

Dan, the rostrum is almost sorted, just needs some new ply to stand on ;)

It's Batley, I asked Dianne at the start of the week to confirm for defo what the date is. She was trying to speak to Derrick last night so as soon as we know I'll get it posted on here.

Batley applications to me please, I already have a team building!!! ;)

Col 30-08-2007 06:48 PM

G said the date was confirmed for the 23rd sept a while ago.
