I have an original vodafone dongle (3G), http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/deal...up-and-go-blue

these used to be everlasting (almost) but have changed to 30days then top up at £15...(ouch)...but you can get the old sims on ebay (300391396975), or other sims if you can get it unlocked, 3's seem cheap, search for data sim.

also the E220's can be picked up unlocked on ebay, may have faster speeds, (120569580654), see what Truman uses.

Be nice to know his useage when he is 'transmitting' - like today, PDA live for 8 hours, and will be again on wednesday night for a club meeting (only just up the road but have been unable to get up there for a while:blush:)

I use THREE, you can get the 12 gig sim on ebay for 30 quid which lasts for 12 months.

am currently using a 3 sim in an unlocked dongle, (ebay again 1g/£3posted/1month) cannot see any difference with VF or 3 with connection, gets 3g mostly (if its slower I switch it off). I do find my XP netbook gets confused if I change dongles & sims, sometimes have to uninstall the dongle software and start again (that may be the VF software). for casual browsing and email 1g a month is hard to use, I think I may settle on the original VF sim.

I've used an original Voda dongle for ages, hardly used any of the 3gig...

How much is used per hour of video? I've not tried it yet...

do the PAYG ones still expired after 30 days?

that's what put me off when I looked at getting one. If you don't use the credit it dies after a month. in the end I got a £4.89/month orange one on a 500mb limit so you can MSN all day and night rather than go crazy for 25 hours

The original Vodafone dongle sim I have lasts........ you need to access the service once every 180 days (i believe) to keep it rolling. All new Vodaphone dongles expire after 30 days, £15 topup required, however you can find the original sim on ebay - better if you are not a heavy user.

You may be able to find an 'unlock' then use any sim - but the Vodafone mobile connect software will not allow it. for me the Huawie Modile Partner software works well, still not managed to send 'text' messages with either software.

I am just starting to play with a E220 dongle, flashed with a software update it may be G7.2 if I can find a location that is using it.
