1/10th Off Road Extravaganza at Silverstone.

Over the last 3-4 years Silverstone Model Car Club have continued to work hard on their all weather track!!

Well this year there has been plenty of hours and money spent on what we hope will be a top UK venue.

So......

August bank holiday weekend!! 28th - 29th August

We are organising a big 2 day race weekend, this will be on our all new purpose built track.

All 100% confirmed but:

2wd & 4wd over two days - 80 drivers per class
3 leg A finals
Dash for cash race for both classes - (drivers selected at random)
Evening BBQ, Live bands, Bar
Camping available
Controlled tyres - (1 set supplied, included in entry fee)
Large raffle (awesome prizes)
Trade stands for shops and distributors/manufacturers (interest growing daily)
Newspaper and magazine coverage, maybe radio
Have a go area... for general public.

Not only will this be a yearly event, it will also be attracting the public. And nothing better than being in Silverstone!!

Note: This is 2-3 weeks before the F3,4,5's so good for anyone attending to get some practice.

If you would be interested in attending/competing or even a shop who wants to show case yourself then reply on here. Shops, distributors email or PM me.

The track has seen many changes over the winter and will be worth the visit.
Sadly this does clash with the start of the 10th Euro's but this means a good chance for others to get there name on the trophy.

Entry will be £30 per class... but that includes a full set of controlled tyres and 1 raffle ticket.
This will be a real party atmosphere weekend and one not to miss!!

How do we enter?

spenner 15-05-2010 09:47 PM

Entry will open on 30th May..
We will take emails sent to the following email address [email protected]

Entry will be first come first served.. any entries received before 8am on the 30th May will not be accepted.
We are trying to make it fair for everyone...

Once entry has been accepted you will be sent an email requesting driver details and payment. We will give all entrants 5 days for payment after this they will be removed and next on the list will be given the oppurtunity.

Sadly we would like to give more time but we have plenty to get ready including drivers packs and tyres.

Please be reminded this is a controlled tyre event. This will be controlled and those found breaking the rules will be excluded.

Camping is available at £5... flat rate. No limit on number of caravans.

Raffle tickets will be available up untill 2pm Sunday, prizes are second to none and worth the pounds!!

Any questions please ask.....

Can multiple people enter on the same email?

If this event is going to be as big as it sounds I doubt the places will last long, there should be 4 of us trying to get a place but I'm the only one that will be at a computer when entry is opened. I don't want to be the only one with a place.

I can't wait for the "BBQ in a large marquee" a least you won't have to worry about a smoke machine!

Does Silverstone RCMCC have a website?

PaulUpton 16-05-2010 06:08 PM

Not currently, but we have a section on here, where most information can be found.

Is it a control tyre front and rear or just rear in 2wd?

PaulUpton 17-05-2010 08:47 PM

It's a control tyre front and back for both classes

Battle_axe 17-05-2010 09:39 PM

and if its wet?

Darren Boyle 17-05-2010 09:44 PM

Then we will all slide around together I guess, to be honest, by the look of things with their new astro I would imagine that Schuey Greens would be fine in the wet anyhow.....

spenner 17-05-2010 09:58 PM

To keep things easy for this event we decided on one tyre, so if it is wet as Darren said we will all slide round together....

DMS Racing will be available all weekend with spares and tyres, so lets hope it stays dry...

panch 19-05-2010 08:32 PM

4 of us will be up for it ;)

spenner 19-05-2010 09:20 PM

Please note: We have had an offer from someone with regard the Controlled tyre's. This late offer has come in and we will release an official list of events by May 30th.

Drivers will still receive a full free set in there entry bag..

Regards

No you won't need a BRCA licence... But it is always advised to get one as it gives you insurance etc when competing at events.
