Ok, repost as I now realise I've f**led my idle setting :mad:

What's the risk from setting this wrong, started too lean, think but not 100% sure I'm too rich now!?? How do I set it, can anyone at NNRC tomorrow help??

As long as it still runs now (which it does) have I at least avoided proper breaking it??

Well, from running it in the street, once up and running it's fine (had already got the high end needle set), if I leave it stopped for more than a couple of seconds it takes ages to pick up from a standstill though, if doesn't move for a second or two then slowly speeds up, is that rich or lean??

I'm by no means an expert but....

Does it chuck out loads of smoke at the time?

Does it stutter?

I think that if you have delay in your car moving off your low end not idle is to rich? check how much oil/fuel is coming out of pipe.

If you think you have realy f**ked up your setting just set them all back to factory set and start again.

From a standstill if the engine blows loads of smoke, poss even spitting oil from the pipe and sounds rough but then clears it's self as it gets going it's most lightly to ritch, if the bottom end is to lean the engine will be quite hard to start and most prob stutter or cut when throtel is applied from stand still as it is not getting enough fuel..

when setting an engine up there is a balance between the to needels, also when adjusting bottem end in most cases it will effect the idel setting

hope this helps a bit, but everyone has a diffrent take on setting engines up, I was once told that it's like learning to roll your own cigarets"the first 6 years are the worst":lol:
