Micro Section National Calendar 2010/2011
 

Good afternoon boys and girls,

Here is the calendar for the 2010/2011 Micro Series.

October 3rd 2010 - - Broughton (Ellesmere Port Off Roaders)
November 7th 2010 - - Taplow (Taplow Indoor Model Club)
December 5th 2010 - - Dudley (Dudley Radio Car Club)
January 9th 2011 - - Caldicot (Caldicot Radio Control Car Club)
February 6th 2011 - - Swansea (Swansea + District Model Car Club)
March 6th 2011 - - Hereford (Hereford Radio Car Club )
March 27th 2011 - - Ardent Raceway (Derby Radio Control Model Car Club)

Ooooooh PDA! Exciting!

Due to unforeseeable reasons that are out of the control of the Committee and the Caldicot Club they are now unable to do Round 1 (October 3rd 2010) however they will now be doing Round 4 (January 9th 2011) :)

OMG! - No Tamworth this year!

PDA NO LONGER ABLE TO HOST ROUND
 

Due to unforeseeable circumstances PDA are losing there venue as of June 2010 so will no longer be able to host there Round (Round 2 November 7th 2010).
We hope that this doesn't inconvenience any of you ( the racers) but im sure you can understand that this situation is out of the hands of the PDA Committee and obviously out of the hands of the Micro Committee.

To update on the "To Be Confirmed" venues we are actively working hard (behind the scenes) talking to interested venues (who meet our current rules) to fill these Rounds and I shall update this page once we have a firm confirmation.

Maybe the rules need changing then. We've coped so far with the venues we've had, in fact, thrived at some of the smaller venues, as they've generally had to be more inventive anyway.

Hi Sarah, no need for the Micro racers to panic yet, the first national isn't until October.

I can confirm Ursh's words that we (as your section committee) are working tirelessly and all being well we should be able to announce the remaining clubs that will fill the calendar as soon as possible

Hopefully not, but I'm just a little concerned that we might have shot ourselves in the foot over some of the new rules.

Any updates on this, as the earlier we know, the earlier we can book hotel stays (and get them at better prices).

Just out of interest, for those that are staying away, you normally get better rates if you book as a group, just something I thought I'd mention.

we continue to talk to prospective venues, but these things take time.

with regards hotels, we still have over 4 months until the first round and plenty of budget hotel chains to choose from, i'm sure good deals will be available for months to come.

Understand that, but I know that when we we're looking for hotels in Cardiff last year or the year before, they we're all either booked up or really expensive, think that a big rugby match was on the same weekend.

Premier Inn don't seem to do any group deals, but a lot of the time they do a bogof. Travelodge do a 20% on rooms, but you need between 10 and 25 rooms booked. I couldn't get the full details as I couldn't log in at the time I looked.

Hi to all those reading this!! As Mat mentions a few posts ago we are working on prospective venues but unfortunatley things will take time. I can assure you there are a number of venues that we are talking to though and all being well we can confirm the remaining dates sooner rather than later

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can say about where we are looking at until we have the clubs confirmation

Great news peeps,

Andy Jones (Section Entries Officer) has managed to secure us a National venue for Round 1 (October 3rd 2010) :thumbsup:

The meeting shall being run by the Ellesmere Port Off Roaders however Andy (Jones) shall be heading the meeting and shall be the port of call for information regarding the National.

The National shall not be held at Ellesmere Port Off Roaders usuall venue but a venue found by Andy in Broughton. The address

4 hours and 16 minutes drive from my house :o guess I'll be missing the first one :(

In all seriousness I will post as much information up about the venue as soon as possible, exact location, nearby things to do etc. I'm off to a wedding reception this evening then making the 4 hour journey to Eden Park for the 10th National this weekend so may not be up until early next week although I will try tonight!!

Thanks need to go to Stu and Ellesmere Port too for agreeing to run the event as well as Oswestry for also helping on the day (Oz don't know that yet though)!!
