Glow plug

Hi,

I have a HPI .21 nitrostar F3.5 engine and as standard it comes witha R5 glow plug. This plug is meant to be cold. I have a couple of question

1) Can I use the McCoy MC9 as its easier to get hold of and is also in the cold range

2) In the litreature it says the R5 glow plug is for hot summer days. So what plug can I use for cold winter days.

Thanks

Hi Mate,

Usually the cold plug is ok in the UK all weathers.

A warmer plug med or hot will be better @ idle & to tune but you will loose top end performance little bit. You will find you will have to richen the top just bit more.

I would say just run the normal cold plug to start with see how you go from there.

TBH i never have run McCoy plugs but if they say cold then you should be fine.

I tend to use Novarossi plugs or sirio one ones

Hope that helps
