Do you clean the motor in any way? I used to spray elec cleaner in the old brushed motor and it made a fair difference, is it something worth doing or is there anything i should be doing?

Depends which make/model you have as to what the best way of servicing it is. The SP v3`s come completely to bits for cleaning, others do not as easily.

SP v3's advise oiling the bearings every 20 runs and removing both ends takes seconds :)

There's no contact or wear in a b-less motor other than the bearings.

Preventative maintenance would be to keep the thing cool and clean, though if properly insulated they can run just fine completely sumberged with VERY little decrease in performance.....

Basically just don't let it overheat. It can destroy the rotor (easily replacable) but more importantly overheating can damage the insulation on the stator wires taking your speedo and motor in one go in a burst of sparks and smoke. :thumbsup:

anything I've ever read from any BL motor manufacturer specifically mentions NOT using motor cleaners to clean the motor, and instead to only spray it out with air. otherwise, as has been mentioned, the only real maintenance is keeping the bearings lubed.
