Roll bar problems

Have people done much to the roll-bar mounts to make the roll bar actually work? :p

When you move the arms up and down slowly the links just move around loads before the roll bar takes effect and you want the roll bar to work straight away really!

Got it fitted as per instructions but it looks infective and doesn't feel as if it has 1 on when driving it.
Just wondered if peeps have modded it at all :)

take both shocks off, and lift one of the arms up. They both should be moving up, which shows how they work.

Not really that just shows it's attached, where I move them up and down the links move all over the place making the roll bar infective for a fair amount of the arms travel

I don't think you'd want it so that it "worked" throughout the suspension's full travel, as it would more likely bind up the suspension making the car undriveable....... and that you only really wanting the bar working where it's designed to, in the corners ;)

But at the moment it hardly seems to work at all, the suspension has to be pretty much compressed all the way for it to work, by that time the car would probably have bottomed out.

You can deffo tell the difference when you have it fitted or removed. I tried it both ways and it does just what you'd expect to the handling. The car responds really well to even the smallest change in set up. I know what Dan means regarding the initial take up on the bar and I too was sceptical but in testing it really does work.

I left it in the box, that seemed fairly effective!

Maybe you need new ball cups, i fitted the roll bar on the rear for the first time yesterday and it doesnt wobble around at all, its tight with the arms at full droop ... when putting it together i pushed the bar all the way into the purple ball end and its not sloopy at all left and right when you push the ball cups support back and fouth.

Rebuild it, mine is perfect.

My car was fishtailing when applying the power with the role bar on, miles better without it:thumbsup:
