lipo 3.7v's help
 
hi guys im looking into getting a lipo to stick in my mardave so need a 3.7v lipo but was wondering do i need anything to go with it as im running a ko propo vfs1 esc and there lower voltage then standard 4cell batteries(4.8v)!or will it be fine?

any info guys thanks ian

In most cases you need a voltage booster of some sort that will give power to the ESC and servo at appropriate voltage. Novak does one. :thumbsup:

As frogger stated you need a voltage booster to make your servo + reciever happy.

does this plug in to the reciever as im running a power cap already and dont have a spare socket for it to go in to.

Yes it goes into a socket into your reciever so an aux or battery socket.

It doesn't have to go into your receiver socket. You can connect it into the on/off switch of the speedo - see diagram attached. (note that where it says Rx 7.4v LiPo, you wire your booster) Also, you can wire the capcitor into the socket for your PT (both devices from one plug) that will free up a socket for the booster.

Avoid the Novak booster. There are many recorded problems with this booster, especially with the latest generation speedos. I strongly recommend the RC Dynamics booster as it will deliver high current and is very reliable. HTH :)
