What parts are interchangable? X6 - X6 sq'd
 

As title.

I have very recently got hold of a X6 :D non squared and wanted to get a bit OCD on some info as X factoryuk list most of the spare parts as discontinued :(

I have just read that the rear shock tower will fit provided i change the wishbones aswell..

but what about the chassis? is it only the nose cone is now part of the chassis or is there other changes?

The x6² has a different chassis, shock tower, wishbones, battery strap and servo holders.

Basically if you want to make sure you can still get spares get hold of the rear shock tower and wishbones and run the car as is. If the chassis ever breaks swap it for the x6² plastic chassis. You will need the brass tubes that the rear hinge pins go into as well to change the chassis.

Guys discontinued does not mean "not available". When we list a part as discontinued, it simply measn we are not "making" any more. When it is re-listed as "obsolete" it means we have run out.

On all orignial X6 parts, we proabably have around 2 1/2 - 3 years supply of every left in stock (possibly more) so there is no need to panic on any of the parts. The ONLY X-Factory part we are running VERY low on is the X5 Sq Chassis, which we now have less than 10 off.

As to parts that are the same between Squared and Non, the hinge pins, all the gearbox parts and internals, wing mounts, rear wishbone hangers, rear bulkhead, motor T-piece, chassis inserts, anti squat shims, gearbox spacers are all the same.

Then the chassis, servo mounts, battery strap, hinge pin inserts, rear tower, and rear wishbones are different....

To be honest think they are 2 very different beasts, was contempating changing an old X6 to a Squared but they are completely different with weight, set up etc. Plus the squared just keeps getting quicker as the top lads are pushing the boundaries were the old X6 is not as popular

Unless you are exceptionally talented I don't think you will find much difference between a squared and a non-squared.

All the setup ideas transport from one car to the other very well.

The Squared is much easier to work on, and more durable. The quality of the parts is much better. Those are the reasons we made the Squared.

Sparrow is right on -- we think there is very little if any difference on the track. If your name is Brian or Ellis you can tell. If your name is Chazz you'll never know.

Because the primary weight distribution -- motor and battery position -- did not change at all, and because the rear suspension geometry remains the same (obviously the front is identical) what works on the Squared will work with the original.
