Associated/Losi Shocks
 

Ive got the option of running Losi or AE shocks on my X-6 ( When I get it!) Ive noticed the team all seem to use Losi shocks in the UK, Why is this? is there a considerable difference in performance between the two. I do realise that Losi units are easier to build and maintain so I assume that could be a factor

I prefer everything about Losi shocks, there are also more, more usefull springs and piston. Doddle to build, always consisent etc etc!

Having never used AE shocks you do hear of horror stories trying to build them and keeping the oil in.

I just used Losi for the reason that I had been using them for the last 12 years so I kinda know what I am doing with them, and I wanted both the X6 and X5 to be on the same shocks.

Given the option you will be better to go with the Losi shocks as you can then follow any of the team set ups.

i must agree the shimz are easier by far!

anway back to point. i have always used Associated shocks on my x6 cos i know how to build them well without leaks or air. plus they are the same as my bj4 which makes it easier. to be honest its really down to personal preference

Im running a B4 at the moment and have raced mainly Associated TCs and buggies throughout my racing career so I do realise the flaws with the Ae shocks however I feel I can build them well enough to stay consistent now. I did have a dabble with a Losi at the start of the season and hated it but liked the shock build, However im not totally sure of optimum setup of Losi shocks compared to AE.
I have a set of threaded shocks on my BK2 so ive got everything I will need, This might turn out to be a trickier decision than I once anticipated!!!!
