Which Kipor to buy .... ?????
 

Well i think im going to go the geny route but would like to know which model to go for.

Iv seen the 980, 1000 and 1300 models which relate to the power output in watts. Which is the most popular jobbie?

From what i understand, how many chargers etc can you run off one. I hear that some owners have at least 3 power supplies running with around 5 chargers etc. Will the 980 model cope with this surge.

Any advice people can give me on the kipor range is greatly appreciated.

none...as far as im aware honda have a court order ruling because the kipor ones were a blatant copy of their gennies,i seem to recall that kipor genies were being confiscated on sight and crushed,i will have a look and see where i read it,it was a bit ago

Theres still loads available to be honest. You are right though about the crushed jobbies.... I'll just make sure that if a really cheap one becomes available thats its not in 50 pieces lol :D

all im saying is that if you have one of the illegal ones you can have it taken from you with no warning,no compo and your down a few hundred quid so just be aware what your buying.and what you see people selling.

think thats more the shop selling them rather than people using them

Tbh though i dont think that Honda Uk would actually challenge an operator of a Kipor geny asking then to politely hand it over as its identical to one of theres lol.... They would only concentrate on xxx such a companies stock if they were still manufacturing them and selling them on clearly disregarding Hondas lawsuit. This happens all the time with almost every thinkable item thats in use all over the world. They would only go after the big fish as they say :cool:

while i agree that honda would be targetting the main importers/sellers etc,they want everyone of those kipor gennies that have gotten honda copied parts in,trashed.

honda lost a lot of money over this in sales as the kipor ones were a lot cheaper than the honda ones,now honda has the injuctions ,you try to buy one of the illegal ones and you could land in very hot water..it wouldnt take honda a long time to search forums and google as we do to see where they are being sold and bought,now i know its very unlikey you would get done,but isnt that what car tax dodgers say?

the importers had all the kipor ones confiscated and crushed..

currently running the older red one 1300 Tc and it runs ma caravan and all our charging stuff nps
980's and 1000 ti all do the job if its just a few of you go for the 1000ti Steven pierce bought one of me and runs a hole crew of them.and is nice and smooth if Ur going to run a big van and loads of stuff get a 2000tc/ti version the 3000tc/ti or like rocky horse poo at the mo
losixxx has a 3000ti for sale if you need something big snatch it up even i cant get them at the mo

if there still being sold on ebay by dealers then imho the people using them have very little to worry about!

How often would i have to fill a Kipor 980 with 2 chargers, soldering iron (twice a day) , 1 discharger a day?

read the link i posted,its those models that use hondas patented noise cancelling that are illegal,i think its just the red cased models they were after (KGE1000tsi, KGE1300tc, KGE1300tsc, KGE2000tc, KGE2000ti, KGE3000tc and KGE3000ti models)

there have been loads of them crushed,have a look on google altho its old news now as this was last year when they got the injuction.

thats why some models nigh on impossible to get hold of because

1.sellers who have them are scared to sell them
2. those that have them dont want to sell them as they wont be able to get another
3.they are very few and far between as so many have been destroyed.

to try and justify yours is legal just because you own one is quite funny actually

let me put it this way,my sister in law works for a honda dealership about 20 miles away..you think if i told her you were selling one of the illegal kipor gennies her boss would turn a blind eye? (altho it makes no difference to me and im not a snitch :) )

all im saying is be careful where you buy from and who you sell to..ignorance of the law doesnt mean you get off if caught.

i know a lad at our club was trying to buy a big 3kw kipor one and the seller on ebay told him that he had his stock confiscated(he was a big dealer of them apparently)

i couldnt give 2 hoots wether you have 5 of them,but i dont like to see people waste money if you got caught. :(

Im no expert in law, but when ever i buy something i dont usually scrutinise every component to make sure its not copied from another brand.

not sure lee but in the eyes of the law its illegal..so it gets crushed,its not hondas concern wether you lose money or not.

i suspect you would have to then seek compo with kipor knowing they were selling something that wasnt theres to sell.

from what i could gather,kipor were making the gennies for honda,then when the contract ran out,kipor decided to rebadge the gennies and sell as their own including the patented systems,hence why honda got the injuction,this is only what i read on the net so read as you will..

the good thing about kipor is that they are damn good gennies(understandable if they are hondas rebadged) and half the price of a honda equivalent !

DAVE, i havent for a second tried to justify mine is legal were did you get that from!????, just that from what ive read it looks like honda have confiscated suppliers gennys and not personnel ones!, i think your scaremongering a little over the top!

and as im not a dealer but advertising a second hand unit that isnt even mine, i not in the least concerned

dave don't accuse me of things you obviously havent got a clue about, if you bothered to check my advert was put up before this thread was started! hense i was unaware of issues surrounding certain kipor models.
just be carefull with your wording in future people may take offence to being accused of conning people !
