Cougar SV - Constant Steering Radius?

Hi guys,

Like many I'm awaiting the wide release of the Cougar. I've been looking at the pictures and trying to find out more information about the unique (and very compact) steering setup of the Cougar.

Schumacher calls it the Constant Steering Radius system - does anyone, perhaps some of the team drivers, have any pictures of how the setup looks like or works?

From the pictures, I'm guessing they've moved the pivot point of the bellcranks to the front of the car right into the bulkhead and the draglink is actually behind the pivot point? If this is the case, the bellcranks actually pivot in the same rotation as the steering knuckles.

Are my guesses correct or is it some other feat of engineering genius? :)

Thanks in advance.

Was anticipating some form of reply but seems like no one bothers to answer.:o

Haven't many team drivers been racing and getting home at midnight then going to work the following day?

Hope the Cougar performed well over the weekend races! :)

Hopefully when they're rested and recuperated they might shed some light on my question.

we don't have any close up's that are better than on the schumy site, but your guesses are about right, hard to explain without having the car there,

Not sure I could post a much better pic than this one.

You can see the steering rack, and it's pivots. The bell cranks pivot from the alloy posts that you can see at the front, to the rack pivots.

Word of thanks to all who clarified how the steering setup works.

Seems this setup alters the steering geometry. Looking forward to seeing the results on the track. :)
