Lee Martin takes first 2WD National with Tamiya

Lee Martin took an impressive victory with the new Tamiya 2WD electric buggy - the TRF 201X - at the first BRCA off road national of 2010 at Talywain, Wales. 17th April 2010.

Ellis Stafford took three rounds of qualifying to take overall TQ with the XFactory X6 as he looked to start another domination of the UK 2WD series - being the 2-time defending national champ.

The first leg of the A saw Ellis take an easy victory without much trouble. Lee Martin took leg two and it was all down to leg three as Ellis and Lee battled it out in a very exciting final race. A last minute pass from Lee saw him take the win and with it his first National 2WD win, and first for the new not-yet-released TRF 2WD buggy. Ellis Stafford finished 2nd overall and Grant Williams took third with the new Schumacher 2WD buggy, the Cougar SV, which was also at its first UK national event.

How many cars have won the worlds with an inboard motor compared to rear outboard motors? Shows what the best design is.

How many Worlds have been raced on tracks similar to the style of the UK?
And how many years have inboard motor cars (S2, CR2, X6 etc) been around?

Bit of a daft post really.

Not really. In board has been around since the late 80's, early 90's (tekin, mip, fabiix and also named car manufaturers tested the idea) and didnt really make the cut. Considering how long the designs been used the amount of national wins is rather small.

I dont suppose anyones got any vids of the finals have they?

Crikey yes, inboard was toyed wayyyy back, never caught on at all, what was that buggy TOP models produced for a while? Do recall it.....inboard, never did any good.....yeah, never did any good LOL. Its all just trend, give it a few years, an all this inboard will die off again....like shaft driven touring cars.
