iphone
looking for one but which one
don't want a contract just PAYG have a vodafone sim that I'd like to use so as to keep same number it'll be more of a toy rather than a phone :woot: |
Mega money without a contract...
|
If you're getting it as a toy why not get an iPod Touch, or do you actually want to be able to make calls on it?
You planning on buying brand new or second hand? Apple will be announcing a new iPhone in the next few months so if you want a brand new one i'd recommend waiting until then. Also vodafone currently sell iPhones so if you want one you can just go into any phone shop and get one. |

2. new or used 3. might just wait if a new ones coming out soon |
if you want to buy one on Pay&Go, go for o2. 8g should be big enough and when you buy it they put your number onto the sim, by using the iphone sim you get unlimited internet for 1 year from o2. I have been in the o2 shop this morining to ask about the new iphone 4g but they said that apple are not relesing any info until july, so i wouldnt expect the 4g to be out until around september/october

I bought an iphone 3GS 16GB ( £450 odd ), put my old sim in it as you are intending and ended up with a bill for calls/useage of £94 more than normal for the month :( i then went to Vodafone and bought another on contract for £149. Asked them to leave it sealed and sold in on Ebay for £445 using the new sim on my "old" iphone. £30 a month, unlimited texts, 1 gig data, unlimited wifi ( as it should be!! ) and 5 hours talktime. £0.18 per minute there afterwards. All im suggesting is make sure that your current contract/sim is suitable for the phone for roaming data as i got stung. Rich |
Ive got a 18 month contract for a 3gs 16gb On 02 600 minutes unlimited internet and text's for 40 pound a month including the phone.
I think its worth every penny. Today ive sorted out both my dock's ive got one in my study thats connected to my pc. The other is in my bedroom for charging ive also connected it to my sound system so i can listen to my music on it via my stereo. A |
Has to be said, when they first came out I wasn't that keen, but I've had mine since June last year, got a 3G on ebay the day before the 3GS launch (intentionally) and I love it, it's so much better than my old HTC, I've got friends who have owned blackberries and moved over to iPhones, same with my friends with android phones, you just can't beat the iPhone in my opinion. What with the new model coming out in a few months and iPhone 4.0 software, things are just going to get better and better!

not a phone but a Chris Boardman Performance Hybrid Bike Pro Medium http://www.thebikelist.co.uk/imageca...-medium-09.jpg phones on back burner now for a month but thanks for the info so far |
well i'm about 6 weeks into my 3gs iphone & yes it is pretty good
its easy to use & everything just seems to work BUT the battery life on it is Wank! if you use it a lot its dead mid afternoon! i think i preferred the bigger, more vivid screen & more functionality of the HTC Touch HD i had before! at least that could manage a whole day if you caned it:) i do like the iphone though, it just needs a better battery  |
I loved my htc touch hd and the battery life was great, but decided to sell htc and get a cheap sony ericcson for texts and phoning and use my ipod touch for everything else. ipod touch is awesome.
