very trick

Scouser 16-11-2007 02:54 PM

Has anyone bought one of these? They look nice and would add a bit of weight to the front but just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with them?

RLGfx 16-11-2007 03:18 PM

oooh... the motor plate on that site looks luvverly....

Scouser 16-11-2007 03:38 PM

I know, they look very nice indeed. Trouble is, I cant see any mention of overseas shipping so I wanted to know if anyone had dealt with the company and had an idea of costs or even if they were prepared to ship internationally.

RLGfx 16-11-2007 03:48 PM

wouldn't mind finding out myself... for the new toy! :D;)

Scouser 17-11-2007 12:44 AM

The bulkhead and the motor plate would look rather spiffy with the Atomic shock towers I have just ordered:cool:

Scouser 17-11-2007 01:41 AM

Just sent them an email to see if they will ship to the U.K. and what the shipping costs will be. I will post any additional info as and when I get it.

RLGfx 17-11-2007 09:25 AM

sweet, let us know how you get on:)

Scouser 19-11-2007 08:57 PM

Well Cliff-RC wont ship internationally but they did put me in touch with a man who might! Updates as and when they happen.

Scouser 20-11-2007 03:52 PM

Update for anyone thinking of getting these parts for their RB5. The only international dealer who stocks these parts is http://www.pro-s-futaba.co.jp
I have contacted them and they were almost immediate with their response. Cliff-RC had already informed them that they might be getting contacted and they already worked out the shipping and exact costs for me. I have ordered the bulkhead and the motor plate and the total cost including shipping was £35 or 7737 Japanese Yen. I cant say enough good things about the two comapnies so far, they have been extremely helpful and super fast with their email replies.
If you did want to order the parts, email them at [email protected] and let them know what you are wanting to buy etc.
I will post up what the parts are like and what the shipping times are when the bits arrive.

i've used Pro futaba before.
very reliable.
quick responses.
they usually ship by EMS so it is even faster.

if u log onto the jap post EMS global tracking website, u can even track the location of the parcel daily :D

All turned up this morning and let me tell you, they are sweeet! Both the motor plate and the bulkhead fit like a dream and they look mighty fine if I do say so myself. The motor plate is very thick and the milling is very neat. When fitted it gives the motor a nice reassuring base to fit to.
Bulkhead is much the same story. Lovely finish, the grub screws fit on the underside which makes the changing of a-arms nice and quick and again, gives a nice reassuring mount for the front end. Not sure the bulkhead adds very much weight but personally, I think they are both worth every penny. Going to test them at Southport this weekend!;)

jim76 27-11-2007 12:42 PM

would you be able to weigh the bulkhead compared to the original part Scouser?
I'm thinking of making one out of Brass or Stainless, just curious how much weight yours adds.

Scouser 27-11-2007 01:40 PM

Jim, I did actually try to weigh the bulkhead and the motor plate before fitting but unfortunately I don't have any electric scales and the kitchen ones are not accurate enough to show a significant difference. I do know that both Cliff RC parts are substantially heavier than stock but I just cant say exactly how much.:( Sorry dude.

jim76 27-11-2007 02:59 PM

that's cool, no problem. I think Brass will be substantially heavier than the alloy Cliff item anyway which is what i'm after.

jim76 27-11-2007 04:24 PM

Just out of curiosity, if i manage to make up a brass bulkhead (well actually it will be the old man, he's the engineer!), would anyone be interested in one if i can get a few made?
I had one request by PM which made me think there may be more out there.

if you are, either post a reply or drop me a PM. Also if you could give me a rough idea what you think it should sell for that would be handy as i need to see if it's worth while the old man making extra as that is his day job and i don't want to put him out of pocket!

RLGfx 27-11-2007 04:41 PM

I'd be interested... :)

jasonrcb 27-11-2007 05:07 PM

i would be interested also as the added weight would help :)

RogerM 27-11-2007 06:21 PM

I'd be interested too ...
