Macnum for new driver

I was thinking of getting a Macnum for my 7 year old, are they strong enough to take the bashing it will have to take and are parts readily available?

Most parts are fine, and Ansmann/Team C are constantly improving the components that are failing in use (early shock towers and T pieces failed, beefing these up caused the mounts to break instead which have now also been improved).

The body shell with the standard Macnum is pretty weak however and will not last long with a learner driver. The XTPro shell is readily available (about £16) and is clear for you to paint.

The front chassis plates are another weak(ish) spot and can fail on a heavy frontal collision - most uk sites don't seem to have these in stock at the mo (hopefully cos it's being improved) so at the mo both my Mad Rat and Macnum are using superglued bits...

The standard shocks can have their tops ripped off in a hefty tumble but a dab of superglue holds 'em firm until you decide to upgrade them.

Drivetrain, chassis, wishbones etc are all very tough and they're a good starter car.

If you gear it fairly high it doesn't wheelspin (even on slippy surfaces like Denton) so again makes it easier to drive for a learner.

good call there shannow the car is good and we are working hard on parts to make them stronger the car can handle some good smashes but the front plate is the week spot but in the end if you beef that up too much you will break the chasiss in hard impcats much better to break £3 part than £14 part
