Spur gear

Having not built the car from scratch I'm not massively clued up on how the x11 goes together, is there a quick way to change the spur ad I've shredded mine?

All sorted thanks.

Hi, try this.. It's actuall really quick when you've got the hang of it.

Take the 4 screws out holding the gear box top down

Remove the screw from the brace on the motor clamp

Remove the lower screw from the carbon rear tower

Tilt the whole gearbox top assembly back(it will twist the turbuckles)

Lift the propshaft assembly and pull rearward to extract it from the front gearbox

Undo slipper nut and remove along with washers (note orientation of washers)

reassemble in reverse order.

It's worth sitting the rear of the chassis on something (I use a wheel) while doing this as its easier to manage. Also, once you have finished make sure you re-adjust the turbuckles so that the balljoints don't rub in the hub top link.

Hope that helps... I think I got all the steps in there.

Cheers for that, defo a quicker way than I used. I removed the shocks, then rear tower, gearbox top, then more or less similar to yours so will remember for next time ta!

I always mesh the pred slightly tighter than I do on other cars.

As the prop-shaft is not supported directly each side of the spur it flexes a little under load, this opens the mesh slightly.

I've never stripped a spur.
