Superb, looking forward to it.

Beanie 07-04-2010 03:38 PM

Think we might have a few more in the jallopy class too!! I'll bring the SC10, a blitz is coming along as is a SCRT10.....in amongst some Slashes perhaps too!!

My B4 is now running the Mamba and a 5700KV....strewth.....overgeared currently though, but by crikey it doesn't half shift!!

Welshy40 07-04-2010 04:01 PM

Well i will have a mess around with your b4 and see what we can do to improve the handling and ratio.

frogger 07-04-2010 04:20 PM

How many 1/18th buggies do you guys get racing? Do you have jumps for the buggies? I am in Coulsdon and this would be great to get to on a Friday night

I've a 20 tooth pinion coming to sort out the gearing, otherwise the B4 seems to be handling very nicely right now

Usually have between 4-8 1/18 scale most of the time. No jumps as yet, watch this space as we are planning a few 'mild' points of interest!

Do you have any rules/restrictions on anything? Shark with Mongoose motor OK to use?

Beanie 07-04-2010 05:57 PM

no rules really, other than to have a good time! A shark with a mongoose will embarrass the rest of us, but more than acceptable! :)

Welshy40 07-04-2010 09:06 PM

Im gutted. I now am unable to make this friday, so sorry dude. I hope you find the right ratio.

Beanie 07-04-2010 09:27 PM

No worries, used this and will change from the current 23/81 to 20/81 with the Mamba 5700kv:

I'll try and make an appearance on Friday night.

I'll check the website properly in a minute but just in case the info doesn't exist, what do we need in terms of tables/chairs/food available/kids welcome/etc.?

There are usually tables available and plenty of chairs, get there from 7 onwards and racing begins usually at about 7.45.

Snack machine in reception with crisps, chocolate and drinks. Kids are welcome as long as they are supervised, there are a fair few kids that come to race. All in all it's a very friendly and relaxed affair.

Here's where it is:

Take an extension lead with sockets on as some of the power sockets in the hall dont work so youll need to extend across the hall, but other than that nothing else is needed. Great club, great people, great atmosphere.

frogger 08-04-2010 09:38 AM

Excellent, should be 3 of us with 1/18 buggies there this Friday :)

Beanie 08-04-2010 09:46 AM

Great!, there will be at least also a couple of Atoms, a couple of RC18's, etc. too...

Got some skate ramps coming this Friday too. Might be able to start running an outdoor section over the light evening months! We'll have to see how that pans out....not sure the outdoor surface (Grass) will be ok for 1/18 but we'll see.

frogger 08-04-2010 10:31 AM

My regular micro club is Wycombe and we built our best big jump using 2 skate ramps bolted together with a hardboard surface.

By far the most versatile things we have are big sheets of hardboard. We prop them up against some chairs to make berms and wall rides, we drape them over crates to form landings for the bigger jumps, etc. They are so useful and at £6/sheet not a lot of money.

We also run multiple classes on a Saturday night and take the jumps off in between rounds for the touring cars and Mardave's and put them back on for the buggies.

Looking forward to meeting you guys and trying your venue on Friday

Well i reckon that was the best Bisley night ever! Good attendance in all classes, Great fun with the SC's 'rubbing', super close racing in the 1/10 buggies and a great number of 1/18th's

Superb, just need a jump or two perhaps....

frogger 09-04-2010 11:28 PM

Yep, it was a fun night and you are correct, all you need now is some jumps!

Yup video was great, cheers for that. It appears my transponder wasn't being picked up on every lap. I did two more laps in the video so I am happy for that but also have seen a few things that need doing. Dan Greenwood was right when he looked at my car in January and intend on getting it up to his standards, but I am still a couple of laps behind at them mo and can see a few things in the video that I can address.

Also I hit those chairs flat out on the straight and shows how strong Kyosho wishbones used to be, as the quality was good then. Only damage is a slightly bent shock shaft on the front. Nothing else.

Glad I didn't go to Taploe as my brakes on my car failed last night on the way home and luckily I only live ten mins away so wasn't too hard in getting there.
