where to buy 501x parts
 

I am thinking of buying a Tamiya 501x we, but I just wondered how easy is it to buy parts in the UK.
Can anyone tell me where is the best place to buy bodies and undertrays, wishbones etc?

Your best bet is Hong Kong for parts

Yeah go to HK for parts, takes days to reach the UK, and theres quite a bit to be had, i just bagged a few parts missing from one i just bought, the chassis is MINT, but a few parts were just missing, real silly bits that take an age to find lol, grabbed a new undertray from www.rcmodel.hk too hope that helps.

I just use EBAY. Once you type 501x millions of parts pop up. They are mostly based out of HK as well but better prices than anywhere on the web.

I ordered the essentials today at my local hobby shop.
511 body, wing set, yes finnally a front wing for my worlds edition
it should look sharp! The black pulleys, new center pulleys..
New O-rings(very easy to get)...pretty much it...all I really need
right now...couldnt think of anything else I needed for the car.:yawn:
Im stocked on 501x A-arms...(how can you break 'em)

Just a really dumb Q, but does a 511 body fit direct onto the 501? Quite taken with the body TBH, thought about bagging one.

In the US, speedtechrc.com, hkshobby and TamiyaUSA all carry parts. I am missing a US seller. I also like the Japanese sellers on ebay, not a fan of HK sellers because I hate waiting 2 weeks.

Tamiya USA really don't like shipping to the UK, especially as Tamiya has a distributor here

I'll find out when I get it either this week or next week.
I'm thinking maybe 4 days..

You answered your own question my friend. I think TamiyaUSA only ships to America, could be wrong though.

Yes it does. I followed the cut out lines and it fits the 501 without issue. It just has slightly different mounting holes in the undertray. Just line up before drilling.

I also got the new wing coming. Looks like it includes the front wing as well after you cut it out that is.

My 511 body/wing and and spares such will be coming to the hobby shop thursday.
3 more days and I'll be working on this project. They had to
do a special order for me to get the stuff in, as thier distributer
doesnt carry 511 stuff. But that's fine with me just a longer wait.:D

Today is thursday, so I assume I'll be getting the goodies today.
I'll let you know later on. I have white paint for the body.
