Lipo in starter box
Hey guys, what do i need to use lipos in starter box? obviously a special lead?is that it?
what do you use to hold them inside? chris |
Hi, not sure about the lead, i think it is just a lead with deans connector. try getting flat long lipo batteries and hopefully they will fit in the original 7.2v batteries holder. I think mayby you could use 7.4v lipo
cheers Michael |
an 11.1v lipo will be ok
|
i run both in my smd blue box
either a tornado 2500 25c 11.1 or the same but 14.8v the 14.8 will turn over the tightest new engine no probs. |
personally i use 14.8 volts,4s lipo, just get a good un or it will puff!

If safety is a concern, give LiFe batteries a look. Turnigy now have reasonably priced LiFe packs available on Hobbycity/Hobbyking.

I used 2 x Demon 5000mah 7.4v's in my SMD Evo to make a 14.8v pack and it never burnt the motors out and was 40% more powerful than any gel cell I've ever tried. Incredible performance.
