mini spikes in yellow when dry and greens when wet slim mini spike on the front in the same compounds

Might be worth investing in some Ballistic Green Spikes as well, in the damp/wet.

At the weekend in the dry the majority were running worn Schuey yellow minispikes all round in 4wd, with staggered ribs on the front of 2wd.

As Mark says, in the damp wet I'm told brand new ballistic greens work best.

Dry - Schumacher Yellow Mini Spikes (Stagger Ribs on 2wd front if you wish)

Wet - Ballistic Green Spikes

I'm too lazy to do that anymore. That's what the crazy Belgium's suggest but I couldn't tell any difference between them and ones with no cuts.

I think Janus has convinced everyone you need to do it because he likes doing them so much :woot:

On the front of a B4/x6 when running staggered ribs on normal B4 wheels is it best to stretch them across the whole wheel or run them on the outer 2/3 of the wheel and then either cut down the inner part of the wheel or leave the inner bit showing (looks a bit chav though).

Might as well tag on to this topic,

For wet grass, would you say the same compounds?

ashleyb4 02-04-2010 12:13 AM

Dry: Schumacher Yellow Mini Spikes

Wet: Ballistic buggy green spike.

Whats the BB Green like compared to the schumacher greens? I've never ran the BB's only schumacher yellow/green.

markwilliamson2001 02-04-2010 03:29 AM

Different type of rubber BB : synthetic vs schum : natural

never really liked schumey greens on the rear of 2wd buggy as they have a funny squirm to them. Ballistics feel nice on 4wd all round IMO

How about ballistic pinks?? Ive got a couple of sets, are they as good as greens in the wet??
