What Turn Motor for 2wd

Hi Guys,

Was just wondering what ppl like to run in there 2WD.

It will be run mainly indoors only like Worksop end of the year but rest will be club meetings.

I was thinking of 8.5t motor as this would be alot smoother than 7.5t?

Hi Rob

I ran a Novak 7.5L ( the one with the blue band round it instead of the purple 7.5R ) all this Worksop series. With the punch turned down to 1 on my Nosram ISTC it was nice and smooth and easy to drive yet had the power needed for the straight. Managed 11th overall in the series with it so it cant be too far off :)

i've been running a 8.5 in 2wd indoors at york and bury it's plenty fast enough for indoors i think

Hi Rich,

Yeah watched your car few times at Worksop. Looked good on the track, but look so much smoother on the throttle than me though.

So i will be going for the 8.5t SP V3 with the way i drive

Thanks Guys

Cheers Rob - i use a little bit of negative throttle curve to help. I just checked and its set on -15%

Im sure that the SP V3 will be good though, ive just got one for my new Cougar for outdoors in 6.5 flavour :) Think ill keep the 7.5L for the next Worksop

I run a 7.5 in my B4 and I've only just started driving 2wd and finding it quite quick lol.

might even go for a 9.5 until I can drive better

an 8.5 geared properly should be plenty quick enough.
