2wd Servo
Best servo for around £30 for 2wd buggy ?
|
If you can stretch to £40 i can strongly recommend the Savox 1251 - low profile, 0.09s and 9kgcm torque. Hard to fault at that price - works really well in a XXX-CR
Hitec HS625MG is also mean't to be quite popular at around £30 |
Does a server really make much difference?
I'm just using the servo that came with the radio set, is it worthwhile getting a better one? What's usually the difference? |
servo makes a massive difference!
You know when you get a little out of shape in a slide, but you can;t quite react quick enough to catch the slide before you spin etc? Well with a fast servo you can catch the slide much easier. Also on fast sweeping bends, the standard servos don;t have a lot of power to keep the wheels turned under the load on the tyres. With a fast/strong servo, the keep the wheels locked on full turn. you can pick up decent spec second hand KO servo's with metal gears for around £30, well worth the investment if you plan to race regulary |
In my 4wd I use a Bluebird 621MG. Only £23 and 7.2 kg torque with 0.10 speed and metal gears.

I use Bluebird 661 in 2wd and it's fine, and less than 30 quid. I would however agree that a proper KO servo (or savox although not had one myself) is noticably quieter and a bit more responsive. I bought a used KO 2143 or 2413 (can't remember which, the faster of the two) off flea bay for about 15 quid and I've used it in several cars and it's been faultless.

probably better than a 4wd buggy as there is less strain and impact.
