Which foams?

Which foam tyres would you guys recommend for running on standard gymhall wooden or vinyl floors ?

I think he means a foam tyre, rather than a foam insert...

Usually rubber tyres work better than foams on such surfaces ....

Wot car are you running ?

Billy,

There aren't really any foam tyres that will work on gym hall flooring, well nothing that would work at EK anyway. The Schumacher Foam inserts, in the post above are what we use in mini pins and mini spikes, Medium compound works best, but I think you'll struggle with any sort of foam tyres, unless you are running on carpet.

Cheers Raymond....looks like rubber tyres then!
Trying to get something sorted out locally for mardaves, local high school has the hall with stage as EK, but much bigger. Might struggle to find somewhere to store the bits & bobs though ! Theres another thats about 1/2 of EK in size with a mini daise/stage thing, that might be better on storage though.

The high school cant do wednesdays and suits me fine as thats EK's night and I still want to run my buggy up there.

So is there a particular tyre I should be going for on the mardaves? I have a set of proper treaded rubber tyres for it, but usuallu use foams on carpet. Ive seen hard rubber tyres around, but didnt know if thery worked or not.

Ide be tempted to mount them on the lathe and get some sort of tread/groove on that flat shiney surface....

Foams are generally pants on polished floors ...

Probably one of the best tyres are Schumacher rally blocks in white compound. Its what a lot of peeps use in the Micro Nationals as there can be a lot of polished floor. They work really well, but are TC sized. But you could always cut and re-glue them to a smaller diameter wheel.

Or possibly Losi street meats for the Mini T work quite well and may even glue straight on to a Mardave wheel.
