Pit tent? Recommendations?

Hi guys

I'm after a pit tent or gazebo of reasonable quality. The last one I had got written off when the wind got hold of it. It was pretty crap, no strength in the metalwork. Doesn't need to be huge just enough for my table and 2 chairs.

Thanks!

We've got this one and it's about to start its 3rd summer season, i've not looked at it for a while as it's been in the garage over the winter but it was still looking tip top after last summer.

I managed to pick it up for the bargain price of £60 when argos had a sale on a couple of years ago but it's defiantely worth the £100 they are asking.

This is the one I have:

Fully waterproof roof. Collapsable frame (no putting poles together) with decent strength, I can just about put it up and down myself allthough it is much easier with two. At that price it is great value. Build quality is good.

Also available in 3mx3m but 2.5mx2.5m was perfect for me.

Attwools. Search these bad boys. I think they are from the Khyam family. I googled them and found it straight away. £130 ish though but they do look good.

What did you go for in the end as the argos one is on offer. Need a tent for a couple of pit spaces, are they big enough?

4 of you can pit in there comfortably, the roof is totally waterproof.
if it does ever blow in you can get every part for it as a spare & i think they're still doing a bit of pre season discount too :)
the only downside is its a bit heavy, but its easy enough with 2 of you
plus with extra room in there you'll soon attract some new friends lol

maybe one of the smaller ones if thats too big?

The guys at southport had a new Coleman 'Event' shelter which looked great and had loads of room.

£150 on the bay

I've got the Coleman Evolva Link annexe - it's quick to put up and doesn't occupy much more ground space than the unit itself.

http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/shop...ink_annexe.jpg

It's 2m square, and as you see, opens on three sides, but can be totally closed.
Built in ground sheet as well, so it keeps most water out.

Zips up on either end, to the Evolva Sleep Annexe as well, so you can upgrade it to take the missus on a camping holiday as well! Sleep Annex is a double-skin two-berth unit with vents, screen, etc. Proper tent.

With two sleep annexes, it looks like this:

(That's my reason for choosing this as the "family" tent - a third of it goes racing!)

PS. Strange, but it doesn't come with poles to raise the door into a canopy, but £8 solves that...
