general purpose compressor or airbrush specific?

Hi

I've just bought a premiair g35 airbrush and want to get a suitable compressor. I've read on some RC site that your probably better off getting a more powerful 1hp+ general purpose compressor rather than the lesser powered airbrush ones. I can get a Rockworth 6lt, 1.5 hp one for £50 brand new ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT) or for similar money the AS18 mini piston one which a few places sell including everything airbrush. If i want one with a tank it'll be around £70 - 80.

So which one would be the one to go for? It wont be used every day as im just starting out.

Also anybody used CO2 cylinders instead of a compressor?

well, it depends on what paint you intend to use?

Not really sure yet to be honest, it seems like Faskolor is the most readily available hence the possible requirement for higher pressures but if you could suggest anything else that is easy enough to get a hold off that would be appreciated.

I run a compressor with a 50l reservoir, otherwise the pump is running almost constantly, so you either got to get a quiet one that runs continuously or a noisier one that you can store and keep quiet.

yeah something like that, just need to consider now the sound level as that one is fair bit louder than the small sized ones. As they have a larger tank i guess it wouldn't need to run as often though.

if you have to consider noise, then you need a silent compressor, then your price goes up.
