Power distributor
I was looking on the internet at the power distributors made by people like much more and they where really exspensive and more than i wanted o pay so i went into my local maplins and i decided to make my own i use one plastic black box 1 meter of wire 3 red female plugs 3 female black plugs and a pair on male bannana plugs. It all cost my around 11 pounds. And it only took me about 30 minutes to make here it is what do you think????? I made a silly mistake with the lid when i was drilling it i let it spin and it scratched it:( but it still looks really good. And it works lol

Good work. I have been looking at these and I agree they are over priced but I think I might take a trip to maplins this weekend.
Much more satifying to make that buy I say   |
Get a blue LED on there and it would be bling
|
Im not making it complete with led's i may put some switches on the side which have lights in them for when they are on.

:) It looks like you've done a nice job but to be fair my Much More version came with five sockets, 3 of which are switched, and its in a metal rather than plastic case.
If you did like for like it probably wouldn't work out much cheaper.:) |
:o 'Much More' money

see here
also seen something similar on ebay still have 1 like yours that I made up back in the late 90's with 8 ports on. Only now it has a few missing as used them for other duties :( l |

my own maplin version
switches, led's to show there on, and two in put cables one short for psu, one long for 12 volt on the floor! deff more satisfying to make ur own and it was still cheaper than "alot more"!! and no where near the £34 one tip put a 30 amp or above what ever you use inline near your battery croc clips, being a motor tech un protected long wires melt quick and make a mess, a fuse near the battery/psu will blow on a dead short protecting burns damage etc http://freespace.virgin.net/mark.chr...dist%20box.JPG |

Blue Polycarbonate Box, Ultrabright Blue Staus LED, Long Silicone Leads. Large Croc Clips. |
i add a 3cell pack inside mine, to run my lathe..... it also acts as a weight, so the box wont be top heavy and topple over.

just wondering what sort of load i could run of a BMI power supply
" ultra power 10 a dc12v 10 a swiching power supply input ac230v 50 hz output dc 12v10 amp " id want to run maybe 2 chargers off it and a fan... would they all work or would it be over loaded ? Garry D. |
