what mods??

I have got a brand new standed ftx blaze, what mods do i need to buy to get it to national spec??

to be honest, you may have been better off buying a second hand LRP shark FT. the shark spec is what you need for nationals, and the conversion list it quite long and expensive.

you will need
ball diffs front and rear
longer wishbones front and rear
longer UJ's front and rear
and there are a few other sundry items too.

the shark has all the bits included, plus all the carbon shock towers and better shocks etc. If you planned to race at nationals you probably should have done a little research first as nobody at national level runs a standard width blaze any more.

blaze mods

Well most people run the Shark now, which essentially is a Blaze ST ie wider. If it's standard out the box, the first thing you do want to change is the steering arms, as the standard ones will break if you even look at them wrong in most people's hands, mine last all of 30mins out the box, and I had no spares at the time.

Either replace them with alloy versions, or replace them and the lower and upper arms with the PBM upgrade, which will also give you more precise steering.

You could also convert it to an ST version, by replacing those same parts front and rear, but also with the longer driveshafts, (you should replace the driveshafts anyway for the alloy version), but converting it might work out costing more than simply buying a new Shark, a lot depends on your budget and what you want to do with it. The Blaze is still a competitive car in the right hands, but with the Shark being wider, and in some cases longer, the Shark is a more stable car.
