Suggestions for the Mini Rules for September

As Title.
We would like all your suggestions on this topic so we can make a list of rules that will be okay for everyone in time for the next winter series 2010/11

mini rules

keep to the mini cup rules if you want rules, if you don't have a fun open class.

Dave Dodd 09-03-2010 11:44 AM

we do have rules currently in place, but there does seem to be some disputes as to what should be there and what shouldnt....

what goes through my mind anyway :/

Go

I think the mini rules should be as following;

off-road tyres
any brushless motor
lipos
big shocks
swap mini shells for buggy shells
use the jumps

:D
________
TOP PENNY STOCKS

chris brown 18-03-2010 08:17 PM

any mini sized rubber tyres.
tamiya black can or 27t brushed/13.5 brushless.
any hop up.

All must bow to my mini driving skills

SHOW OFF

Maybe ansmann and hpi 20t sealed can motors too.
These are very similar to tamiya black cans.

After my session at Ardant today, how about:
13.5t brushless systems only:woot:
Only 1 set of tyres per series :p:p:p

I dont think 1 set of ansmann's would last a series  as some struggle to last 1 night :thumbdown:

But they could race the final round to the Bolero!

Quite a few lads from the notts area raced minis at Ardents fri night club meet. There were different motor and tyre set ups but all seemed relatively close. Lots of us have noticed that motors dont seem to make a massive differnce in the mini. Overpower it and it just becomes useless, spinning its wheels, unable to put power down. Not all hop ups seem to make a difference either and most have found at w.b. that the friction shocks work better over oil filled ones.
A lot of debate in the pst about mini rules has been bounced about. Should it be an entry class? Is it a budget class?
There are very few newbies in minis as most newbies seem to come with touring cars. Its not a budget class either as prices have soared. Ok, it may be budget compared to a new xray tourer or top end buggy but not many people have those either or have got them second hand anyway.

I would like to think that the rules shouldnt taint the mini race class as I feel that they a little have in the past. Rules were set before but not then enforced anyway so people were left to moan which is fair enough I suppose but what is the point in having rules if they are not enforced and I'm not talking about the rc mini police here either, just monitor it.

Lets get some realistic rules that keep the class fun.
We never have this rule problem with any other class of racing.

My ideas (turning out to be a long post init?)

any mini chassis. m01,02,03,04,05.
any mini sized wheel and tyres.
any shocks and springs.
geared kit diffs.
27t or 13.5brushless. hpi/ansmann 15 or 20t?(only £7.50).
Black or silver can tamiya motor.
any mini sized bodyshell.

right ho, chris. Just shut up and eat your easter egg. Right ho.
