Get well soon Dave

I received a rather sad phone call this morning letting me know that Dave Armstrong (Ashton's dad) was taken quite seriously ill yesterday and will be spending a while in hospital.

I'm not going to go into details, but I would ask that everyone spare a thought for Dave and his family at this difficult time.

There will be a "get well soon" card next to the booking in area on Wednesday so I would ask that you all sign it so I can get it to Dave and let him know we wish him a speedy recovery.

Dave has gone out of his way to help the club before now so I think it's fitting we should show our appreciation with a few kind words.

Thank you all in anticipation.

Dave.

PS - If anyone can't make it to the club but would wish to send their regards, please email them to me at [email protected] and I'll print them off and take them with the card.

Dave,
Whatever the illness, hope it wasn't the excitement of your drive to EPR, your truck racing, or the sheer cold. My thumbs and toes are still thawing!
Tom and I wish you the speediest of recoveries and our thoughts are with you.
If your wife needs a hand/driver for the business, whilst you recover, I will be upset if you don't ask. I can juggle things round.

Update time.

I've had Dave on the phone texting me (no - I didn't think phones were allowed in the CCU either) telling me he's bored, there's nothing on TV and there's not one decent looking nurse on his ward. Oh and he's fed up with the moaning old duffers.

I think that means he's not feeling too bad.

He's off for more tests later this week and then they will decide whether it's more treatment or going under the blade. Either way I'm sure we all wish him the best and a speedy recovery.
