Which 1/8 nitro buggy for £300 RTR?
Im new to buggies and dont have one yet but im thinking of getting one to race. What are my choices for £300 max RTR? So far I only know of the Hyper 7 and HPI Trophy 3.5.

maveric stealth xb is a better car, basically the same as a hyper but seem to be better out of the box. But trust me youll want servos in approx 10 seconds cos rtrs come with the worst servos known to man!!

Both are good for the money.
Personally I think you ought to save a little longer and spend a little more, but you can get a good starter kit with the right advice. The Losi Eight 2.0 RTR is very good - oh I can't find that. There are the Hong Nor RTR's too, these are great value for money - built like tanks (except these are heavier :P) |
the hong nor x1x rtr at 269.99 is a belter it comes with the big bore shocks and as chris long says built like tanks very good for the money

Bought a Caster ZX-1 because it came with a 2.4G radio and the guy in the shop said that the 21 GO engine in it was popular and was quite good. Steering servo gears stripped after 5 mins on tarmac going slow and I didnt hit anything! Although my 2 year old was playing with the wheels when I got it out of the box! I have upgraded the steering servo to a 10kg 0.07sec/60 degrees digital servo.
After 3 tanks of steady driving I opened her up for a couple of seconds and she revved very high, I thought these things were supposed to be set rich from the factory? Also the exhaust is very loud, would getting a tuned pipe make it quieter or even louder? |
It will always be loud, just be careful of residential homes where you take it.

I knew I should've gone brushless! At least its quieter than my mates Baja!

yeh electric is a lot more resident-friendly. But you wouldn't get the run time as you do with nitro. Its horse-for-courses though. You can get some great conversions
