Hmmm yer, bit ott for an astra:woot:. But what ever floats yr boat I surpose....I bet the final finishing touch is added with the lights set dim some music and a fast moving right hand:D:D then rubs it into the paint work:woot:

Did love his car washing buckets tho:D

Is that the Paul Dalton who will charge you £5,000 to clean your car?

He does a cheaper service that I wanted him to do to my Focus ST before I picked it up, but the wife said no:bored:

I am an old friend of Paul Dalton and he is highly regarded in the Detailing World and has been featured on a few motoring programmes too!

He tends to focus on supercars where he has a large base of hiigh paying customers, as his toys will prove!

That was his mate Marc's Astra but he has gone to even greater lengths since the blue one!

I hope hes not allowed near small children!

I can't understand how he tolerated some flies to land on his roof... This is unbearable!

Joke aside, this is incredible work and pure madness. I can understand and respect that. But from a pure environemental point of view (sorry if this is not correct), this is mass destruction. 50L of water (not considering this is reverse osmosis water!) to clean a car, this much chemicals and so on, this is really, well, I don't have the words...

Concerning the F40, those cars had so poor a paintjob from factory it's useless to apply such a work. One could see the carbon fibers through the paint... And if you look at the after pics, you can see there is more orange peel than on a Renault...

Just my thoughts though. I love cars and the work this guy put in his Astra is stunning and done with taste I think.

£5000 to clean a car!?!?!?!?

And it will all get undone the first time you drive it. Some people..........doh!!

bodgit 28-02-2010 03:40 PM

I remember the white astra post on here a while back. Unbelievable amount of work. My car has not been washed since november, makes me feel dirty.

showtime 28-02-2010 03:53 PM

it takes a true genius to remap his car to make it quicker than add about half a ton of sound deadening :eh?:

fair play to him though if thats what floats his boat :bored:

seems a shame to do all that cleaning & prep to drive it in our shitty weather plus how bad will he feel if some mong drives into it or some scrote scratches it

it all seems a bit pointless to me!

but then he might think we're pricks for playing with toy cars so..........

steelie600 01-03-2010 05:53 PM

its a brand new blastid car ffs!!!! it dont need cleaning just a de waxing abd polish!!!!

Titch 04-03-2010 03:33 PM

I spent 29 quid to get mine valeted yesterday  Some dude with a henry and a pressure washer, took him 45 minutes.. Sound job too.

Bit of an overkill on those Astra's, but the techniques are interesting. If I could afford a Ferrari, I reckon 5k is pocket change.
