xx4 one way diff

Keep hearing these talked about, and recently got a job lot of spares, and there was a xxxs one way diff assembly still in the packet?????? Can this be modified to fit and/or how does it work different from the clicker?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the xxxs is the same basically as the xxx4 trasmission wise rather than the xx4, and uses a larger pulley than the xx4. I don't think the two are interchangeable. The one way sytem you are talking about has independent one way bearings either side of the belt pulley, and no front differential, whereas the clicker retains the front diff and freewheels with the ratchet system on the clicker. It is really down to personal choice but my view is the clicker does a good job as you can alter the amount of 1-way effect while retaining the diff. Others might prefer the feel of the 'locked' diff and 1-way bearings.

I find the clicker and diff setup safer do drive and deliver more traction and better handeling in bumps. However I think the front oneway makes you corner faster and gives you more steering. I prefer the clicker though.

YOU CAN USE THE ONE WAY IF ITS THE PLASTIC ONE BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE SOME MATERIAL OFF THE OUTER DIAMETER OF THE ONE WAY THAT SITS CLOSEST TO THE DIFF GEAR
DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?
