New tyres / wheels for Mad Rat

I've just bought a Mad Rat rtr for my daughter to get started. I had thought the wheels were the same as a B4... doh. I need to fit it with spikes front and rear to cope with the indoor track at York. Can anyone recommend anything, wheel wise?

Take the rear hex off and put a few axle spacers on, for the front just use b4 steering blocks but drilled out to 3mm so the madrat king pins fit:thumbsup:

Try RB5 wheels, as they're 12mm hex as well.

Also Academy - DMS Racing have them in stock, and they're very cheap (but good). Wheels for the Griffin should do.

All of the 1:10th Fastrax sets fit Like this Flash tread... good for all round indoor and outdoor use.. The Fastrax studs and H block are also excellent.

You could get the basic wheels from Fastrax and then get Schumacher mini pins...bit expensive as you will burn them out after maybe 4 drives but they are ideal for indoor vinyl and wood.

Those Fastrax wheels look cool and are nicely priced, but watch out for the offset. You might find that they will effectively widen your car. Perhaps too far... At that pirce it might be worth picking up a set just to check them out or to use for bashing at very least.

FWIW I know that Nathan Ralls ran HB rims on his RB5, as he found that the offset was very similar to stock.

Real Ansmann wheels might be a good way to go too.. But do be careful about the offset again - if you go for ones like these http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.ph...n&ItemID=29294 you car will run WAY wide. I use these ones on my old, narrow Kyosho Optima, and it widens it out to specs perfectly.

Cheers,
Ty

Cheers. The fastrax tyres look a bit of a bargain!
