Recommended Lipo's

Can anyone recommend some good but cheap 4s lipo's (rather than 2x2s)??

Planning on using one expensive hard case 4s and one cheapo as backup (can be soft case, assuming any rules we mow have allow it??), my cheap one last year was second hand never found the brand anywhere to get some more!!

The rules (written by me) that would be run for now at BRCA nationals allow soft-case LiPos.

I would look at Zippy/Turnigy LiPos from Hobbyking - very cheap, even for the higher discharge rates.

would the wrca need to follow these guidelines at wrca events? (ie-allowing soft case lipos)

sorry to ask Marvin but who are you to write these rules, I presume you are on the BRCA committee. Your full name and position would help us out, as we are in a gray area on this subject with the WRCA who follow the BRCA rules.
Also could you get this info on the BRCA site.
cheers

It's quite alright. I am not part of the BRCA (not committee), and basically have been trying to get a 1/8th national series for 1/8th electrics running for 2010, by talking to those in the BRCA. We have/had a glimmer of hope of running with the truggy section at their nationals, but that doesn't seem like it's happening at the moment. The rules I wrote would be the rules that we would use this season until we are able to get some 'proper' rules and a committee at the next AGM - that was the plan anyway.

what is the current BRCA rulling on 1/8 lipo? i take it there isnt any ruling?

This may be good news to you marvin, The WRCA are going to be running a 1/8th electric class in our summer series, Using the talywain astro track. It would be nice to see a few more brushless creations there.
This is why we were asking about lipo rules, your input would be great.
We will be fixing the dates this thursday PM me if you find this interesring.

forgot to mention Steve....Talywain has been and is this year a 'national' event track
yes i am bigging up Talywain its a class track with great facilities..and its on Welsh soil :D

There are no current rules on 1/8th LiPo - here's a link to my trial rules for you: Clicky.

I would suggest running those - it means that the class is still open while we work out what is best. I don't want to see a 4S limit, or only 2x2S packs used - it is not ideal for the class.

Way too far away for me, but more 1/8th electric is good - there would be a better chance of nationals for next year with good numbers.
